Tri Nam Group JSC Chairman Do Ba Dan said on December 22 that the shared transport service had attracted a positive response from the public in HCMC, Thanh Nien Online newspaper reported.

The number of customers has surged, leading to some issues. However, the company has acknowledged customers’ comments and will improve the service.

Tri Nam will also work with HCMC authorities to expand the public bike share scheme to other districts and connect the bike system with the bus system, the Tan Son Nhat International Airport and metro line projects.

The service was launched in HCMC on December 17.

In the 12-month pilot period, the service is being offered at 43 stations with 388 bicycles parked along some sidewalks in District 1 and priority lanes for buses on the Dien Bien Phu and Vo Thi Sau streets in District 3.

To use the service, people need to download the TNGO app, register for an account using their mobile phone number and add money to the account via MoMo, Zalo Pay, or VTC Pay. They then need to scan a QR code attached to the bicycle to unlock it for use.

During the pilot period, the price is VND5,000 for 30 minutes.
