According to Hanoi People’s Committee, Sun Group will responsible for Kim Lien area which 42 apartment buildings with 2-6 floors each, Thanh Xuan Bac with 61 buildings of five floors each and Thanh Xuan Nam with eight buildings ranging from three to five floors each.
FLC Group will rebuild and renovate 69 old apartment buildings in Kim Giang area and T&T Group will deal with buildings in Bach Khoa and Thuy Loi areas.
Meanwhile, Vingroup will be in charge in five apartment blocks in Ngoc Khanh, Giang Vo, Tho Quan, Duong Sat and H24.
The other investors in the list include Hoa Phat Group, Vinaconex and Geleximco.
A taskforce has been set up to study legal regulations on old apartment building restoration in Hanoi to make a plan to submit to the city people’s committee for approval. The committee then will send the plan to the government for consideration.
The group consists of 17 people led by Le Van Duc, the municipal Department of Construction’s Director.
According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, Hanoi is home to nearly 1,500 old apartment blocks with 2-5 floors each, mostly focusing in four inner-city districts. Over the past decade, just 14 among those have been rebuilt, accounting for just less than 1%. Four are in a very critical condition, and need to be rebuilt urgently.
