According to Vice President of the association Truong Hoang,this is the first time Vietnam has hosted the event.
The exhibition will introduce more than 250 Suiseki works,many of which are valued at nearly 10 billion VND (nearly 431,000 USD).
Within the event’s framework, more than 100 photos ofornamental creatures by Vietnamese and foreign artists will be introduced.
A Vietnamese Bonsai Exhibition will also be held on theoccasion to showcase nearly 1,000 ornamental art works from 40 localitiesacross the country, said Hoang.
The Asia-Pacific Bonsai and Suiseki Exhibition is a chancefor Vietnam to promote the culture, tourism and people of Vietnam to foreignfriends, and for the Vietnamese ornamental artists to meet and exchange withtheir foreign peers, thus fostering their cooperation, he added.
The exhibition was first held in Indonesia 30 years ago. Thebiennial event is organised alternatively by a number of countries includingChina, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia./. VNA
