Everywhere in the village have blazed pink and red of incense sticks.

Quang Phu Cau village in Hanoi is famous for its century-old craft of making incense.

The locals say the craft of making incense began in Quang Phu Cau around 100 years ago.

The making of incense sticks include many steps: chopping bamboo, dipping the sticks in pink dye, letting them dry outdoor and producing incense paste.

Beginning as a part-time job, the craft now generates income for around 70% of local households./.

Traditional handicraft villages have started to resume operation after more than two months of suspension due to the fourth coronavirus outbreak in late April that forced the capital city to follow strict social distancing measures.
