The pilgrimage to the complex of spiritual buildings and monuments, all developed as part of Sun World Fansipan Legend in Sa Pa, Lao Cai Province, started early in the morning on 15th May. The delegation’s first stop was Bao An Thien Tu pagoda, which is located by the departure station of Fansipan cable-car system.
Afterwards, the delegation were thrilled to take a cable car to the peak of Mount Fansipan, where they made more offerings and prayed by the numerous impressive architectural wonders, developed by Sun Group, while also taking the time to appreciate the breathtaking mountainous scenery of Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range.
Surrounded by heavenly clouds on the top of Mount Fansipan, the Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers burned incense and prayed at the Bich Van Thien Tu pagoda on the peak of Fansipan.
While visiting the spiritual and cultural complex of Sun World Fansipan Legend, to honor Buddha’s birthday, the international delegates held a special prayer for peace inside the Great Amitabha Buddha statue, the tallest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam.
Together with Buddhist Sangha leaders, Buddhist scholars and monks, hundreds of visitors to Fansipan also attended the ceremony that was held in an atmosphere of reverence and solemnity.
The international delegates and visitors also had a chance to worship the Buddha’s sacred relics stored in a seven-storey crystal glass tower within the heart of the Great Amitabha Buddha statue.
These are very previous Buddhist relics which were presented by Buddhist monks from Myanmar to Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Vietnam. There was a special ceremony held at the Great Amitabha Buddha Statue at Fansipan during which the pilgrims prayed for peace.
After the ceremony, the delegation enjoyed snapping and posing for photos by the Flagpole.
The delegation also spent time exploring the rest of spiritual and cultural complex on the ‘roof of Indochina’, where they visited Kim Son Bao Thang pagoda, Vong Linh Cao Dai and the Arhat Path, which is lined with bronze statues from 2 to 2.5m in height.
The pilgrimage to various architectural wonders and spiritual sites on the majestic peak of Mount Fansipan was a sacred and significant event for all of the visitors.
Upon leaving the complex of spiritual and cultural buildings at Sun World Fansipan Legend, the delegation also took the time to visit some of the other famous tourist destinations in Sa Pa on May 16th.
As part of the global celebrations for Vesak 2019, which marks Buddha’s birthday, this international delegation’s pilgrimage of worship to the spiritual and cultural complex of Sun World Fansipan Legend also demonstrates the attractiveness of spiritual tourism destinations in Vietnam.
It was also a wonderful opportunity to promote the image of a beautiful country, and celebrate its history and culture to the world, all of which will further contribute to the development of spiritual tourism in Vietnam.
