VNR worked out two resumption plans for the north-south route and other routes.
For the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, under plan A, 3 pairs of trains will operate in October, with the SE7/SE8 trains to start running from October 1, SE3/4 trains from October 7, and SE5/6 trains from October 14. Under plan B, the SE7/SE8 trains to start running from October 1, SE3/4 trains from October 14, and SE5/6 trains from October 21.
For other routes: Under plan A, the LP5/LP6 trains will run on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route from October 1, LP3/LP8 trains from October 8, and LP7/HP2 trains on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Hanoi - Vinh and Hanoi - Da Nang routes will resume operation from October 8, with one pair of train for each route.
In the southern region, the routes of Saigon - Nha Trang, Saigon - Phan Thiet, and Saigon - Da Nang will resume.
Under plan B, the LP5/LP6 trains will run on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route from October 8, LP3/LP8 trains from October 15, and LP7/HP2 trains on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Hanoi - Vinh and Hanoi - Da Nang routes will resume operation from October 15, with one pair of train for each route from October 1.
In the southern region, the routes of Saigon - Nha Trang, Saigon - Phan Thiet, and Saigon - Da Nang will resume in late October or early November.
VNR also plans to continue specialized trains to transport people from Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces where the pandemic is still rampant back to their hometowns on demand.
