Newly detected Covid-19 patients reside in 237 communes, wards and towns in 30 of all 30 districts. Central districts such as Dong Da and Hai Ba Trung report a relatively high number of cases. Dong Da district is now rated at the orange (high) level of pandemic and has imposed strict measures from December 13.
Since the fourth outbreak (beginning on April 27), Hanoi has recorded a total of 18,448 Covid-19 cases, including 6,902 cases detected in the community. In the last seven days, the city reported a daily average of 600 to 900 infections.
Facing the complicated developments of the epidemic, many areas in the city are blocked, including some streets in the Hanoi Old Quarter.

Hanoi: Covid-19 cases may rise to 1,000 per day
It is forecast that the number of new cases in Hanoi will rise, possibly 1,000 cases a day, said Director of the Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha.
