Customers at Pet Coffee Garden at 91A Binh Long Street in Binh Tan District can pet exotic animals in addition to dogs and cats, and can also bring their own pets.

Kids and adults can play with two South America alpacas that the owner bought two months ago. They were imported from the Netherlands for a total price of VND200 million (US$8,600). "They are gentle and friendly," Duong Sieu Hoa, the owner, said.

The shop also has an African spurred tortoise, also called the sulcata tortoise, that roams around freely for visitors to pet and admire.

The 800-sq m café has a garden and air conditioned rooms. During weekends it sees 300 customers and regularly organises meetings for pet lovers. — VNS
