According to the tourism department, because of the Covid-2019 epidemic, the number of Chinese travelers to Khanh Hoa has decreased by 470,000, while the number of foreign travelers from other markets fell by 250,000. Meanwhile, the number of domestic travelers dropped by 300,000. However, the beaches and entertainment centers in Nha Trang are still full of Russian travelers.

The Nha Trang Tourism Association has sent a document to provincial authorities, asking for measures to help travel firms overcome difficulties caused by Covid-19 outbreak.

It proposed banks to extend debt payment and allow late payment of loan interests until the epidemic ends and the business returns to normal.
It also proposed to extend the 2019 corporate income tax payment deadline until December 31, 2020 and apply the VAT of 5 percent instead of 10 percent until December 31, 2020.

Local travel firms also want to seek new sources of travelers from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, India and Japan to replace Chinese travelers which are on the decline.
