These air tickets are priced at VND789,000 each, inclusive of taxes and fees.

Besides this, these tickets are only applied to flights departing before 6 a.m. and after 9 p.m., from November 20.

A representative of the carrier noted that the price-saving tickets are suitable for passengers who do not need to check baggage, Tuoi Tre newspaper reported.

Passengers on these flights are still entitled to the airline’s other services, including meals and carry-on luggage with a maximum allowable weight of 12 kilograms.

From now until the end of the year, Vietnam Airlines will continue launching a number of promotional programs to attract more passengers.

Earlier, disputes among local airlines over ways of quoting airfares erupted in September.

Vietnam Airlines denounced Vietjet for publishing airfares without including taxes and fees on its website, causing misunderstandings among customers and affecting the carrier’s competitiveness on the local market.

However, a representative of local low-cost carrier Vietjet stated that if it lists airfares inclusive of taxes and fees on its website, this does not ensure transparency as customers will not see a breakdown of the airfare.

In addition, passengers will also have to pay for services such as meals and checked baggage, which many of them do not need. SGT
