1. The fighting-cock market
This market is in the town of Bac Ha in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai has been operating for a few years to serve those who love cock-fighting. Many people come here to not sell or buy game-cocks but to show off their cocks. The price for fighting cocks is from VND1 to VND2 million ($50-100).
2. The dog-cat market in HCM City
The Le Hong Phong dog-cat market was formed in District 10 in 1990, with a few stalls only. In 2000, the pet dog stalls at Cau Muoi Market in District 1 were removed to this market, making a big one.
All species of dogs and cats are available at this market, with prices from several to thousands of US dollars. Stolen dogs and cats are also sold at the market so people come here to find their pets.
3. The war-items market
The market was formed in Hanoi a few months ago. This flea market opened on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and 30th of lunar months. In addition to antiques, old furniture of all kinds, things left from the Vietnam War such as bombshell, bullet boxes, uniforms ... are also available, at a price from several to tens of thousands USD.
4. The wood chip market
This market is located in the northern province of Bac Ninh stretches on the dike road of nearly 2 km long leading to the village of Dong Ky, the richest village in the country. This market sells only trac wood. All types of trac wood, from scraps to planks, used or new, are offered for sale here. Wood chips are sold by kilo, about VND1 million/kg and from VND10 to VND50 million/long plank. The market opens every day, from about 5 am until evening.
5. Vieng Market in Nam Dinh
This market opens only once a year, from midnight to dawn in Goi town, in the northern province of Nam Dinh. This is the most famous market in the North.
People come here to buy luck and sell bad luck so everyone will buy at least one item, without making a bargain.
Previously, Vieng market only sold farm equipment, especially knives, axes, and plows ... but now the goods are more diverse.
6. The Hade Market in Da Lat
The market opens from 7 pm until 3-4 am. It is very bustling. The main products are woolen products to serve tourists. It is also a paradise of grilled food.
7. Insect market in An Giang
This market is located along the Vietnam-Cambodia border in Tinh Bien district of the southern province of An Giang. Products offered here are all species of insects, from queen termites, centipedes, scorpions, geckos, and spiders, among others.
8. Rat market in An Giang
This is the largest rat market in southern Vietnam. It is located in Binh Long commune, Chau Phu district. The market is busiest from 5am to 9am. About three to five tons of rats are sold every day. Rats are transported from here to other provinces in the south and even the north.
9. Binh Dinh conical hat market
The Go Gang conical hat market is in An Nhon commune, Quy Nhon City of the central province of Binh Dinh. It opens at -3-4 am. The market only sells conical hats and raw materials for making conical hats.
10. Flea market in HCM City
This market opens on Sunday morning in the campus of a cafe in Ward 11, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. Coming here you can buy everything, old and new.
11. The bird market in Lao Cai
This is the largest nightingale market in the North. The market opens every Sunday in the town of Bac Ha in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai. Most traders and market-goers are men.
