The gambling den ran by Nguyen Van Tai, 40, in Luong Son district, Hoa Binh. Seeing the police, many gamblers fled to the mountain but all of them were arrested quickly.

According to Colonel Ho Si Tien, C45 director, this gambling den has existed for a long time. Each day, it operated in two shifts, from 11am to 3pm and from 10pm until the next morning.

They brought power generators to the mountain to serve gamblers at night. If gamblers needed money, they were provided with black credit services on the spot.

To join this gambling den, gamblers had to pay VND500,000-VND1 million ($25-50)/time. The gambling den was guarded with several layers. Guards were equipped with handie-talkies. The gambling den did not open for strangers.

The gambling den had two 16-seat cars which were ready for use in case the gambling den was detected by police.

Recently, C45 broke several large gambling dens, including the ones with gun-equipped guards.
