VietNamNet Bridge – Some 500 students of the Hanoi-based University for Social Sciences and Humanity folded 10,000 paper cranes with thousands of prayers for victims of quakes and tsunamis in Japan on March 24.

Students began folding the paper cranes on March 19.

In Oriental culture, cranes are the symbol of peace, luck, hope and aspirations for good things.
