The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has chosen a total of 104 scores from feature-length motion pictures to vie for nominations in the Original Score category of the 85th Academy Awards, it was announced on Monday.
AMPAS has published the titles of the films and the names of composers in a press release. On the list are well-reviewed critic darlings including "Argo," "Lincoln" and "Zero Dark Thirty," as well as blockbuster hits such as "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2," "Skyfall," "Flight" and "The Hunger Games."
Members of the music branch in the Academy will vote for no more than five scores from among the field before Jan. 10 when AMPAS announces its nominations in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
The winners will be made public at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 24.
