VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnam National Satellite Center (VNSC) has sent 11 officers to Japan for training in aerospace technology at five universities in Japan under the Vietnam Aerospace Center Project.

The 11 officers are trained at leading universities in the field of space technology in Japan, including Tokyo University, Keio University, Hokkaido University, Tohoku University and Kyushu Institute of Technology. They will get the master degree of aerospace technology.

Under the Vietnam Aerospace Center Project, the VNSC will send 36 young officers to Japan to participate in master-degree training courses on space technology, specifically in the fields of orbit control, postural control, structure, thermal, communications, command and data collection and processing, source supply, propulsion system, software and rocket assembly.

The program is divided into three courses: 2013-2015, 2014-2016 and 2015-2017. The purpose of the program is to train 36 master degree holders of space technology through the design, manufacturing and testing of a Micro satellite.

To meet the target of having enough qualified human resources for the manufacture, testing and operation of two satellites, VNSC plans to recruit and train at least 70 engineers in 2015, approximately 150 engineers in 2020 and approximately 300 engineers in 2030.
