In his remarks at the scholarship presentation ceremony, Singapore Ambassador to Vietnam Catherine Wong said that treasuring talented people is one of the key principles of his nation success and their budget allocation for education ranks second, just after defence.

ASEAN scholarships managed by the Singapore Ministry of Education aim to provide opportunities for ASEAN students to develop their potential and equip them with the important skills in their future career.

Scholarship awardees will study at select Singapore universities for four years, after which they will get the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced (GCE A-Level) (or equivalent) certificate.
