VietNamNet Bridge – As much as 14 tonnes of scrap smuggled from Cambodia to Vietnam were seized, Major Dinh Quang Diem, head of Long Binh Border Guard Station in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang told the Vietnam News Agency on Tuesday.

At 7.30pm on Monday, the interdisciplinary force of Long Binh Border Guard Station, An Phu District Police and Khanh Binh Border Gate Customs conducted inspections on Binh Di River between Vietnam and Cambodia and found a suspicious wooden boat sailing towards Cambodia.

After giving up chasing the boat and examining the nearby river bank, they found 14 tonnes of scrap paper pressed into cubes.

The force is conducting further investigation and completing a dossier of the case.
