VietNamNet Bridge – Nearly 150 players took part in the national chess and Chinese chess tournament for top players held in the northern province of Bac Giang yesterday.

They represented 16 teams from across the country including Hanoi, HCM City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho and Binh Dinh. They will vie for four sets of medals in Chinese chess and four sets of medal in chess in the standard and blitz categories.

According to the event’s organising board, fans will have a chance to see the performance of the country’s leading players, including Nguyen Thi Mai Hung and Vo Thi Kim Phung of Bac Giang; Hoang Thi Bao Tram, Nguyen Anh Khoi, Nguyen Thi Thanh An of HCM City; Cao Sang of Lam Dong and Nguyen Duc Hoa of the Military team.

The event, which was jointly held by the National Sports Administration and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will run until November 30.
