The organizing committee of the Vietnam International Fashion Week has held a press conference to announce the list of 16 designers and fashion brands participating in the fall and winter season, which will be held at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi from November 8-11, with the them "Shaping The Future".

The Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2023 will highlight young designers such as Phan Dang Hoang, Pham Tran Thu Hang, and Nguyen Thanh Danh, winners of Fashion Design Icon of FashUP 2022, a competition for fashion and beauty content creators.

Hoang is known for his debut digital show of his new collection “Sculpture” on the Milan Fashion Week official website in September. His collection combines Eastern inspiration with Western culture to celebrate the courage, freedom, and passion of female sculptor Diem Phung Thi (1920-2002), who is considered on the list of great talents in the Larousse Dictionary of Twentieth Century Art.

The event will also attract Indonesian designer Priyo Oktaviano, Dutch-Vietnamese designer Xuan-Thu Nguyen, Vietnamese designers Cao Minh Tien and Ivan Tran, and fashion brand Leisure Project from Thailand.

The event will open with the new collection “Silk Wave” by Hanoi-based Vu Viet Ha, and will close with the collection “Duyen” (Fate) by HCM City-based Adrian Anh Tuan.

A contest to discover the best street style looks will be held at Trang Tien Plaza in Hoan Kiem District during the fashion week.

The event will showcase designs that pay tribute to natural and eco-friendly materials.

Most importantly, the organizer also wants to celebrate more modern and youthful colors. This year's collections are expected to infuse an eco-friendly spirit into the hearts of fashionistas, thanks to the inventiveness of designers and famous domestic and international fashion houses.

"This is the 16th time that VIFW has been held and also the 6th time that it has been held in the capital. Having gone through a journey of 15 seasons together, it can be said that this time interval is neither too long nor too short, but enough for Vietnamese fashion to assert its position on the international fashion map. Today, we can proudly look back on the journey together and take Vietnamese fashion forward," said Trang Le, Chairman of the Association of Southeast Asian Fashion Designers and President of Vietnam International Fashion Week.

Vietnam International Fashion Week was first held in 2014 and quickly became the leading fashion event in ASEAN. It ranks fourth in Asia after the Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai fashion weeks.
