VietNamNet Bridge – Seeing 12 kids who were swept away by water, Nguyen Van Bo jumped into the water to rescue them.



On May 30, the young man was commended and rewarded by the authorities of Tien Yen district in Quang Ninh province for bravely rescuing 12 children from drowning.

At around 4pm of May 19, 12 Dao ethnic minority kids from Doi Che hamlet, Tien Yen district, caught crabs together on the coast. On the way home, they waded across Ha Dong lagoon and fell into a deep hole.

Hearing scream, Nguyen Van Bo, who was looking after his family’s fish cages near the site of accident, urgently rowed his boat to approach the kids.

As the children got panicked, they made the boat overturn. Bo bravely jumped into the water to fish out 12 children.

Eleven kids were brought to the shore safely. One of them fainted but Bo performed first aid to save her.
