VietNamNet Bridge – The HCMC government has agreed to use 1.2 hectares in September 23 Park in District 1 to develop a theater for symphony, opera and ballet which has two auditoriums with a total seating capacity of 1,700.
Germany-based Busmann+Haberer, Muller, Inros Lackner will be in charge of providing design consultancy for the theater with three design plans.
According to the city’s government, the theater scheduled for completion in late 2015 will be constructed in an area of 1.2 hectares and surrounded by Ton That Tung, Le Lai and Pham Ngu Lao streets.
This is a key project, and the city’s government will consider capital sources which will be advanced by Eximbank to implement the project under the build-transfer format.
Besides, the HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been assigned to work with relevant departments and agencies to provide sufficient and timely information and documents for the consulting firm and ensure the project to be put into operation in late 2015.
