VietNamNet Bridge – Nearly 180 reporters will go to Indonesia to cover the 26th Southeast Asian Games. Some of them flew to Indonesia on October 30 and 31.

Reporters have prepared to face difficulties in Indonesia, particularly in Palembang since the system of hotels there is limited. Some reporters will have to experience homestay.

As pork is rejected from the menu in Indonesia, reporters will have to take salted shredded pork or instant noodles to Indonesia.

Transportation is another matter because traffic jams are a problem in Jakarta. Hiring a motorbike seems to be a good choice. However, the traffic flow in Indonesia is contrary to Vietnam so hiring a motorbike driver is considered.

Air tickets are a headache for those who have to travel between Jakarta and Palembang because the number of flights between the two cities is limited and the air fare has risen by nearly three times as the games are coming.

Traveling by land is an option but it is very hard to pass nearly 1,000 km, with two ferry-boats across the sea.
