VietNamNet Bridge – Taking over his sister to manage her barber’s shop, Nguyen Quang Thong, 19, recruited 15 young girls prostitutes.

On July 28, HCM City’s District 10 People’s Court tried defendant Nguyen Quang Thong, 19, from the southern province of Ben Tre for harboring prostitutes.
According to the indictment, police caught in the act--three couples having sex at Thong’s hair parlor.
Prostitutes declared that they were recruited by Thong to work at the parlor, without salary. Their income came from selling their bodies.
At Thong’s hair spa, whoremongers had to pay VND500,000 ($25)/time to prostitutes and VND120,000-160,000/room to Thong.
Thong said he took over the hair parlor from his sister, who was in her maternity leave since May 2011. He recruited 15 girls to work at his parlor as prostitutes. Thong earned VND5-9 million ($250-450) a day from leasing rooms to whoremongers. In his first month managing the parlor, Thong transferred VND172 million (over $8,000) to his sister’s account.
Thong’s sister said she did know not her brother broke the law.
The judge sentenced Thong to four years and six months in jail for harboring prostitutes.
