20-woman squad named ahead of SEA Games 30

Mai Duc Chung, the head coach of Vietnam’s women’s national football team, has revealed the official list of 20 female players who will make up the squad for the upcoming SEA Games 30 in the Philippines.

According to the latest list, a total of eight players have been dropped from the squad. They include Lai Thi Tuyet, Tran Thi Thu Thao, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, Bui Thi Trang, Ngan Thi Van Su, Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan, and Nguyen Thi Truc Huong.

The women’s team will undertake three additional days of training in Ho Chi Minh City before flying to the Philippines to participate in the SEA Games 30 on November 22 as scheduled.

The regional competition will see the women’s national team compete in Group B alongside Thailand and Indonesia. Vietnam’s women will start their tournament by taking on Thailand on November 26 before facing Indonesia three days later.

Here is the full list of the 20 players called up to the women’s national team:

Goalkeepers: Khong Thi Hang (TKS VN FC), and Tran Thi Kim Thanh (Ho Chi Minh City FC)

Defenders: Tran Thi Hong Nhung (Ha Nam FC), Pham Thi Tuoi (Ha Nam FC), Vu Thi Thuy (Ha Nam FC, Chuong Thi Kieu (Ho Chi Minh City FC), Le Thi Diem My (TKS VN FC), Nguyen Thi Xuyen (VFF FC), and Tran Thi Phuong Thao (Ho Chi Minh City FC)

Midfielders: Nguyen Thi Lieu (Ha Nam FC), Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung (Ha Nam FC), Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy (Ho Chi Minh City FC), Tran Nguyen Bao Chau (Ho Chi Minh City FC), Vu Thi Nhung (Hanoi FC), Thai Thi Thao (Hanoi FC), Nguyen Thi Van (TKS VN FC), Duong Thi Van (TKS VN FC), and Hoang Thi Loan (Hanoi FC).
