The additional flights scheduled on April 12-15 will provide up to 420,000 tickets on both domestic and international flights.
Vietnam Airlines will provide 320,000 tickets, up 45,000 compared to the same period last year.
Vietnam Airlines flights will be on the Hanoi-HCM City/Danang/Tuy Hoa and Can Tho and HCM City-Haiphong/Dong Hoi/Nha Trang routes. International flights include Vietnam-Japan/China and Vietnam-Lao/Cambodia.
State employees will enjoy three days off for the Hung Kings’ Festival this year on April 12-15 and as per usual holiday travel dramatically increases.
Jetstar Pacific will provide flights including 100,000 seats for both foreign and local air routes during this time.
Vietnam railways to provide 130 more trains on national holidays
The Vietnam Railway Corporation planned to add 130 more trains from April 25 to May 5 in order to meet the increasing travelling demand during the National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day.
Particularly, 43 trains across the Northern region, including additional 41 trains with 20,000 seats for Hanoi- Ho Chi Minh City route will be mobilized. Especially, two trains SE11/SE12 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa will be increased from April 30 to May 2.
Some key routes from Hanoi to Lao Cai, Hai Phong, Dong Dang, Quan Trieu, and from Yen Vien to Ha Long are still operated 12 return trains a day.
The Vietnam railways also planned to provide 87 more trains departing from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai, Hanoi and vice versa, and nearly 43,500 seats going from Nha Trang to Hue and vice versa.
On the occasion of the death anniversary of Hung Kings, the railway industry will send additional 20 trains to sever passengers from April 11- 15.
