According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the 8th HCM City Ao Dai Festival will take place from March 5 to April 15 with the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai".

The event honors the Ao Dai, and introduces its beauty and convenience in order to make the Ao Dai a familiar outfit of Vietnamese women in daily work as well as on important holidays and events, through which the national cultural identity is preserved, and the image of the country and people will be promoted.

The festival will open at 7pm on March 5 at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue pedestrian street. On the opening night, the audience will see 15 Ao Dai collections of famous designers, with a total of over 300 designs on four themes, performed by over 100 artists and models.

The Ao Dai parade with the theme "Aspiration for peace" will take place at 7 a.m. on March 6 at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue pedestrian street as well as other tourist attractions in Thu Duc city and several districts, with the participation of more than 2,000 people. This is an activity associated with the International Women's Day (March 8).

Other events include an Ao Dai art program, an Ao Dai exhibition, and an online and an offline Ao Dai contest, among other activities.
