The festival is held every two years by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee to promote the local economic potential, culture, tourism, and sustainable development.

It aims to attract domestic and foreign investors and demonstrate Nha Trang’s capacity to host national, regional, and international events.

The festival has scheduled more than 60 events such as exhibitions, cuisine programmes, trade fairs, seminars, sports competitions, flower arrangement contests, and painting contests.

Other plans include a photography exhibition introducing 100 Nha Trang attractions, a bird nest and seafood festival, a coffee festival, and an international sand sculpture competition.

The Nha Trang-Vietnam International Sea Tourism Fair, themed “Sea, Island and Tourism Development”, will be held as part of the broader sea festival for the first time. Its programme lists activities like an international tourism fair, a sea tourism investment promotion seminar, a tourism business awards ceremony, and an open golf tournament.

In addition, this year’s festival also includes folk games, a press award ceremony, special music and dance performances about the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, a human chess competition, an international women's beach volleyball championship, a national beach handball tournament, a national water motorcycle exhibition, and motorbike and bicycle parades.
