At the 4th Party Congress of the Coast Guard Region 2, the term 2020 - 2025, Political Commissar of the High Command of Coast Guard Region 2, Colonel Le Huy Sinh said that, continuing to promote the achievements in the term 2015 - 2020, the High Command of Coast Guard Region 2 has outlined key directions and tasks for the term 2020 - 2025.

Specifically, to strictly maintain the on-duty system at all levels as prescribed; regularly grasp the situation at sea, accurately analyze, evaluate and forecast the situation that may occur, not to be passive; forces and means to be always ready to perform tasks as soon as orders are issued; implement comprehensively and effectively the task of defending sovereignty and law enforcement; prevent all kinds of crimes and violations; well perform the tasks of search and rescue, and environmental protection; closely coordinate with relevant forces to well perform the task of managing security, order and safety, building a solid defense-security posture at sea. 

In the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of the High Command of Coast Guard Region 2 will strive to annually fulfill 100% of the targets assigned regarding patrol, check and control, with the rate of inspection and handling violation cases reaching over 90%; detect and handling 2-3 cases of smuggling, commercial fraud, with the value of confiscated material evidences, assets and goods from 2 to 3 billion VND; handle 10 - 12 drug-related cases, of which 2 - 3 to be presided by itself; prepare forces and means to participate in search and rescue at sea...
