On the evening of July 23, representatives from Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) announced that starting today, 22 airports across the country will feature documentary films about the life and career of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The documentaries, produced by various media agencies, will be shown on public screens at these airports throughout the national mourning period.
Since July 20, not only at Tan Son Nhat or Noi Bai airports but at all airports nationwide, vibrant advertisements on public screens have been suspended, and cultural and sports activities have been paused, with flags being flown at half-mast.
According to ACV representatives, the corporation has also instructed its units to enhance infrastructure, equipment, and personnel to ensure the best conditions for handling flights carrying domestic and international delegates attending the state funeral.
Previously, the Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Dinh Viet Thang, issued a decision to implement heightened Level 1 aviation security measures at airports, air traffic service providers, airlines, and other aviation service companies during the state funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
These measures will be in effect from 5:00pm on July 22, 2024, until midnight on July 26, 2024. Airports will be required to increase the number of aviation security staff and guards at restricted areas, conduct metal detector checks on individuals, and perform visual inspections of people, items, and vehicles entering restricted airport zones.
Additionally, airports must enhance identity verification processes during check-in and security screenings, conduct random visual checks of passengers and carry-on luggage without alarm, and restrict activities in public terminal areas. Checked luggage not accompanied by a passenger will undergo visual inspection after being scanned before boarding.
