2C2P, Southeast Asia’s leading full-suite payments platform, today announced it has been engaged by M-Pay Trade and Technology Services Joint Stock Company (M-Pay) to provide technical services to Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA), Vietnam’s first airline built around the “resort-in-the-sky” travel concept.

The partnership will enable SPA’s customers in Vietnam to access a secure and diverse range of payment options when booking flights online. Expansion into other Asian markets, including China, Malaysia, India, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand, is already in the pipeline.

Developed by Sun Group, one of Vietnam’s leading tourism operators, SPA is positioning itself as a new force in Asia’s aviation landscape, connecting Phu Quoc with major cities across Vietnam and international destinations.

At the core of this collaboration is Payment Air Controller (PACO), a smart payment orchestration solution delivered by M-Pay through 2C2P. The system enables a wide spectrum of payment methods at checkout, including cards, digital wallets such as Alipay, LinePay, Octopus, Touch ’n Go and WeChatPay, QR-based payments like PayNow and PromptPay, as well as direct debit options including Korea Cyber Payment. The aim is to meet the increasingly varied payment preferences of travellers across Asia.

Through a single API integration, SPA can dynamically route transactions to multiple acquirers, supported by intelligent retry logic designed to optimise approval rates and cost efficiency - a key advantage as the airline scales its network. PACO is certified to PCIDSS Level 1 standards, the highest benchmark in payment card data security, ensuring a safe and reliable transaction environment. It is also integrated with global distribution systems such as Amadeus and Sabre, enabling faster and more efficient expansion.

Demand for travel to Southeast Asia continues to accelerate, with revenue rising 18% year-on-year to US$860 million, according to the 2H 2025 Strategy & Investment Outlook Report by Velocity Ventures in partnership with Pear Anderson. Vietnam remains the region’s standout performer, with international arrivals in March reaching levels 46% higher than in 2019.

Yet, airlines looking to capture this growth face persistent challenges, including fragmented payment preferences, fraud risks and complex reconciliation processes. An IDC Infobrief commissioned by 2C2P and Antom in 2025 forecasts strong growth across all digital payment segments for ecommerce in Vietnam by 2028, underscoring the need for scalable and localised payment infrastructure.

“Today’s travellers expect instant and localised booking experiences. As the go-to solutions provider for airlines operating into and within Asia, we are excited to partner with M-Pay and Sun PhuQuoc Airways to introduce Phu Quoc to more Vietnamese and Asian travellers,” said Worachat Luxkanalode, CEO-elect of 2C2P.

“We are delighted to partner with M-Pay and 2C2P to enhance convenience and accessibility for our customers across Vietnam and Asia. As Sun PhuQuoc Airways expands from Phu Quoc to key destinations in the region, seamless and localised payment experiences are essential to making travel easier and more intuitive. This collaboration reflects our commitment to delivering a truly connected ‘resort-in-the-sky’ journey. Together with our partners, we look forward to elevating customer experience and expanding accessibility across the region,” said Nguyen Manh Quan, CEO of Sun Phu Quoc Airways.

With a growing network linking key economic and tourism centres in Vietnam and internationally to Phu Quoc, SPA aims to go beyond transportation to become an integral part of Sun Group’s premium travel ecosystem. Supported by a modern fleet and five-star service standards, the airline is committed to safety, comfort and thoughtful service, while contributing to the global positioning of Phu Quoc on the aviation and tourism map.
