The paintings on display are part of her 864 portraits, which she painted during her journey through all 63 provinces in the country from February 2010 to June 2012.

This is the second time the museum has organized an exhibition of Dang Ai Viet’s work. The first was in 2010, introducing 100 portraits from her first trip through 24 provinces.

The Vietnam Records Book center has twice recognized Dang Ai Viet as the artist who has painted the greatest number of portraits of Heroic Mothers.

A book featuring all of the 300 portraits in the exhibition was also published on July 24.

The exhibition will be open until September.

Heroic Mothers are women whose many children sacrificed for the country's independence.

In three years, artist Dang Ai travelled 35,600km on this motorcycle.
