Thirty-three teams will compete at the first International Lion, Dragon and Unicorn Dance Competition which will take place at the Helio Night Market in the central city of Da Nang from September 14-16.
Twenty-eight of the teams are from Vietnam, while five others hail from China, Singapore, Macao and Malaysia.
Twenty teams from nine provinces and cities across Vietnam will compete in the lion dance on surface category on September 14, while 14 domestic and 5 international teams will compete in the lion dance on high stakes category on September 16.

In addition, visitors to the festival will be able to admire giant lion models and enjoy a traditional cultural space with activities such as the crafting of lanterns, unicorn heads and masks.
The competition is part of the International Lion Dance Festival which is being held at the Helio Centre from August 25 to September 25.
