The study pointed out that businesses and workers need time to rest, adapt and adjust before continuing to embark on new projects after the rapid digital transformation period.

Seventy-one percent of those surveyed in Vietnam believe that the reaction of human resources to changes may lead to a failure of digital transformation.

More than 53 percent of polled people in Vietnam are worried that they may lag behind in a digital world because of the lack of persons who have jurisdiction and vision to take full advantage of the opportunity to digitize. That is why the As-a-Service model is a choice for many enterprises.

Amid Midha from Dell Technologies, said sustainable digital transformation only occurs when people and technology intersect.

To digitize successfully, the expert advised enterprises to consider providing staff with technology-enabled tools to increase working efficiency.

Dell and independent behavioral experts discovered that only 7 percent of workers in Vietnam are pursuing modernization projects. More worryingly, 35 percent of surveyed people in Vietnam showed signs of tardiness or unwillingness to change.

According to the experts, businesses need to analyze their situation before starting a new digital transformation. This is to be sure that workers are fully supported and understand the next stage of the digital transformation process.

Le Nguyen Truong Giang, Director of the Digital Transformation Strategy Institute of the Vietnam Digital Communication Association said that digital transformation is using technology to create transformation in enterprises’ operations.

Regarding when enterprises should begin digital transformation, Truong Ly Hoang Phi, deputy chair of the HCM City Young Entrepreneur Association, said businesses should start when they are still young. If they begin too late, they won’t have enough strength to ‘go to the other side’.
