VietNamNet Bridge - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on December 30, 2013, issued a decision to recognize 37 more national treasures.

Six ancient items that date back to the Dong Son civilization (2,000-2,500 years ago), including a bronze drum in the Hung King temple in the northern province of Phu Tho, were on the list.

The Oc Eo civilization, which developed between the first and seventh century, contributed eight sets of ancient objects to the list, including a collection of golden items which are kept in the Long An provincial museum.

The Dong Son was a prehistoric Bronze Age culture in Vietnam which was centered in the Red River Basin in the north. Its influence has also been found in other parts of Southeast Asia, including the Indo-Malayan Archipelago, from about 1,000 BC to 1 BC. Its most well-known and prized antique is the Dong Son bronze drum.

Meanwhile the Oc Eo culture was located in the Mekong Delta provinces of An Giang, Kien Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho and Bac Lieu, and part of Cambodia.

Paintings of four big names in the Vietnamese modern art, Nguyen Gia Tri, To Ngoc Van, Tran Van Can and Nguyen Sang were included in the list of national treasures.

The ancient items also include those from the Ly, Tran, Le to Nguyen dynasties (the 11th century to the 20th century).

In October 2012, the Government recognized 30 ancient items as national treasures.

The 37 new national treasures include:

1. The Hung Kings Temple bronze drum (Dong Son culture, currently kept at the Hung Kings Temple, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province)

2. Cam Giang bronze drum I (Dong Son culture, Museum of Thanh Hoa province)

3. Viet Khe boat grave (Dong Son culture, National Museum of History)

4. Hop Minh bronze jar (Dong Son culture, Museum of Yen Bai province).

5. Brass buckle (Dong Son culture, Hung Kings Temple, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province)

6. Nui Nua short sword (Dong Son culture, Museum of Thanh Hoa province)

7. Xa Loi Tha Minh stele (made in 601, Museum of Bac Ninh province)

8. Bao Ninh Sung Phuc Pagoda stele (Ly Dynasty, Bao Ninh Sung Phuc Pagoda, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province)

9. Sung Thien Dien Linh stele (Ly Dynasty, Long Doi Son Pagoda, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province)

10. Sung Khanh Pagoda stele (Tran Dynasty, Sung Khanh Temple, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province)

11. Vinh Lang Lam Kinh stele (Le Dynasty, Lam Kinh relics, Tho Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province)

12. Binh Lam temple bell (Tran Dynasty, Binh Lam Temple, Vi Xuyen District, Ha Giang Province)

13. Van Ban temple bell (Tran Dynasty, National Museum of History)

14. Thien Mu Pagoda bell (Nguyen dynasty, Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue province)

15. Stone dragon (Ly Dynasty, Le Van Thinh temple, Gia Binh District, Bac Ninh Province)
