VietNamNet Bridge – On May 11 people in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province discovered a giant whale on the coast of Mui Ne Ward.
The whale had a length of about 6 meters and weighted around 4 tons.
Local fishermen said that this species is called Ong Thong whale, with bulging eyes, three thistle-fruit-shaped cartilages on the back and nice squares and dots on the skin.
They also said that this species usually help and protect boats of fishermen in distress so they build temples to worship the whales.
Local people will bury the whale on the beach and will exhume and move the bones to a whale temple for whorship after three years.
