VietNamNet Bridge – The highest Tet bonus this year for employees working in factories in HCM City industrial parks and export processing zones will be VND99 million (US$4,700) by a domestic enterprise based in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park.

According to the HCM City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA), a foreign-invested textile and garment enterprise in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone announced the second highest bonus of VND77 million, followed by a foreign construction materials manufacturer in Hiep Phuoc who will pay VND67 million.

The average bonus this year will be VND3 million.

Domestic and foreign enterprises will pay a minimum bonus of VND2 million and VND2.05 million respectively.

So far only 160 out of 1,000 firms have announced bonuses, Nguyen Tan Dinh, deputy head of HEPZA, said.

Many ICT enterprises, who usually pay very high bonuses, have yet to announce them, he said.

Workers in IPs and EPZs will enjoy 10 to 14 days off for Tet.
