VietNamNet Bridge - On July, the border guard commander of Quang Binh province said that the local forces seized 4kg of gold that was illegally transported from Laos to Vietnam via the Cha Lo border gate in Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh.

The gold was transported on a passenger car with Lao number plate, owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thin, a resident in Xuan Giang commune, Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh Province.

According to initial investigation, the gold belongs to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, from Phuong Nghi commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province.

Huong declared that she was hired by a Lao man to transport the gold to Vietnam.

The case is under further investigation.
