Over 50 students, who had received one plus point for beneficiaries, disqualified to get in Da Nang University.

Head of the training department of Da Nang University, Tran Dinh Khoi Quoc said on Tuesday that these students had submitted incorrect information on their admission forms before appearing for the examinations.

Quoc said the students had wrongly filled in the information for beneficiaries (sons or daughters whose fathers or mothers were given Resistance War Medal or Victory Medal during wars, and students from ethnic minority groups).

He said the department had deducted their plus points from their examinations before allocating them to other faculties with eligible points.

He said 42 students have shifted to different faculties with lower eligible points, while four moved to other colleges of the Da Nang University.

Six students eventually failed the examination after their exam plus one point was deducted, and they had to leave the college after two months of studying.

Quoc said many students misunderstood the regulation for beneficiaries and entered incorrect information in their forms. However, some of them revised it before taking the examination.

According to the department, the final check, which was made at the colleges of Economics, Foreign Language, and Teachers' Training, will continue at the colleges of Technology and Medicine and Pharmaceutics.
