Minister Consellor of the Vietnamese Embassy to India, Tran Quang Tuyen, left India for Nepal on April 29 to continue aiding Vietnamese nationals trapped in the country, according to the embassy.

The embassy confirmed that about 70 Vietnamese nationals were living or traveling in Nepal at time of the deadly earthquake on April 25.

Among these people, around 50 people have been accounted for, while the whereabouts and condition of 20 others are still unknown.

At the time of publication, the 7.8 magnitude quake has killed at least 5,000 people and injured another 10,000, making it the deadliest disaster in Nepal for more than 80 years.
