An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted Chile at 11:50 a.m. Beijing Time Tuesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 30 km, was at 32.6 degrees south latitude and 71.4 degrees west longitude.
