VietNamNet Bridge – Receiving a copy of the diploma of the Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, hundreds of students have detected a spelling error which can make them be doubted of using fake diplomas. The university explained that this is a mistake of the printing enterprise.

A new bachelor who wanted to be anonymous said on July 1, the Thai Nguyen University of Science organized the graduation ceremony for more than 700 graduates. However, the original diplomas did not have the anti-counterfeiting stamp of the Ministry of Education and Training and the copy has a spelling mistake “Heu Truong” instead of “Hieu Truong” (Rector).
"The diploma that lacks of the anti-counterfeiting stamp and has a spelling mistake can make difficulties for us because the employers can suspect that we use fake degrees," said the new bachelor.
Mr. Nong Quoc Chinh, Rector of the Thai Nguyen University of Science, admitted that the spelling errors in the copy diplomas belonged to the university’s Department of Student Affairs and the lack of the anti-counterfeit stamps in the original diplomas was due to "all students returned home after the graduation ceremony” so the university could not stamp them.
He said the copies with spelling errors had been revoked and students can take their original diplomas back to the school to get the anti-counterfeiting stamps from July 15.
