77 self-nominated candidates for 15th National Assembly

There are 77 self-nominated candidates for the National Assembly in 24 provinces and cities, including 30 people in Hanoi and 16 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This preliminary list was made at the second consultation meeting of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on March 18.

According to the report of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, the total number of candidates is 1,16, which is 2.3 times the number of deputies to be elected to the NA.

Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Hau A Lenh said that this was the number recorded as of March 17. As a rule, localities must hold the second consultation before March 19.

At the meeting, 100% of the participants approved the preliminary list of candidates from central agencies running for the 15th National Assembly, which is 205 candidates.

In particular, the block of Party agencies introduced 11 candidates, including: General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Economic Affairs Tran Tuan Anh, Secretary of the Party Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chief of the Party Central Committee's Office Le Minh Hung, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Popularization and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theory Council Nguyen Xuan Thang, Standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, and Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu.

The bloc of State President and the State President's Office has the following candidates: Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Office of State President Le Khanh Hai, and Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

The Government agencies introduce 15 candidates, including: Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Popularization and Education Nguyen Hong Dien, State Auditor General Ho Duc Phoc, and a number of Ministers and Deputy Ministers. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Office Tran Sy Thanh is a candidate for State Audit agencies.

Among 130 candidates from agencies of the National Assembly, they include Hanoi Party Committee Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue, Vietnam's Fatherland Front President Tran Thanh Man, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Party Secretary of Khanh Hoa Province Nguyen Khac Dinh, Party Secretary of Dak Lak Province Bui Van Cuong, and Party Secretary of Dong Nai Province Nguyen Phu Cuong.

The Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuracy have two candidates: Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy Le Minh Tri.
