VietNamNet Bridge – A schoolgirl from the central city of Da Nang has received the special prize of an international film making competition for Asian children, held in Japan.

The girl, Ho Thi Hieu Hien, is a 7th grader of the Tan Son Secondary School in Da Nang.
Hien won the prize for a short film entitled “Thuy’s class”. She acted as the director, in cooperation with two students from her school, Vo Hoang My, a 9th grader and Kieu Thao Vy, an 8th grader.
Earlier, the film won the first prize at a film making competition for Vietnamese students to celebrate Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary, organized by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.
The international film making competition for Asian children attracted 65 films from ten countries. Seven films won the consolation prize, four won grand prizes, one won the prize of the Japanese Minister of Science, one got the prize of the Japanese Foreign Minister and five received special prizes.
Hieu Hien also won the first prize of the international letter writing competition 2010 held by the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
