The 24th Asian Physics Olympiad was held from June 3 to 10, featuring 28 teams from 27 countries and territories, with a total of 208 contestants. This event, hosted by Malaysia, saw the largest number of participating teams in APhO history.

Participants underwent two days of rigorous competition, each day lasting 5 hours. The theoretical exam incorporated practical and modern applications of physics, such as fountains, fiber optic cables, and research published in the journal Nature on astrophysics. The experimental exam involved experiments with gyroscopes, highlighting their practical applications in precise positioning for maritime aviation and self-balancing devices.

With all eight students winning medals, including a Gold Medal, the Vietnamese delegation's achievements this year surpass those of previous years. This marks the first time in many years that the delegation has secured a Gold Medal at APhO.

This success continues the impressive track record of the Vietnamese team in recent APhO competitions. In 2022, the team won 1 Silver Medal, 2 Bronze Medals, and 5 Certificates of Merit. In 2023, they secured 4 Bronze Medals and 4 Certificates of Merit.
