Miss Grand Vietnam Huyen My attended a press conference in Hanoi on April 17 to launch the Miss Grand International 2017 pageant.

She devoted a lot of time to the exhausting training, strict diet, and to honing her pageantry skills.

Vietnamese representative Huyen My arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on October 6 to join the activities of Miss Grand International 2017.

My said she tried her best at the beauty contest.

Huyen My and Miss Grand beauties visited caves in central Quang Binh Province.

My drew the attention of local people in Quang Binh Province. 

My participated in the traditional costume contest on October 12. She wore an Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) weighing 30kg created by designer Ngo Nhat Huy. She was selected in the top 10 favourite national costumes.

My’s portrait was voted as the favourite of the pageant.

The beauties competed in a swimsuit contest at the Miss Grand International 2017 pageant on October 17. She was placed in the top 10 favourites in the swimsuit contest.

The Vietnamese representative impressed the judge in the Q&A part on October 19.

My looked gorgeous in an evening gown contest in the preliminary competition on October 23.

She participated in another swimsuit contest on October 23.

Huyen My finished in the Top 10 at the grand finale of Miss Grand International 2017 on October 25.  

She received great encouragement from local fans.

She was awarded a prize from sponsors selected by the judge as the candidate best displaying a strong, dynamic beauty.

After entering the Top 20, Huyen My took part in a swimsuit contest.

In her speech at the pageant, My said, “War is just a short word but has massively destructive consequences. Growing up in a country that had been through many wars, I deeply understand the aftermath left behind, mothers losing kids, wives becoming widows, people still dying because they lived through war. Millions of soldiers’ bodies have not been found and most seriously, the Agent Orange consequences until today. In every war all parties want to be winners, but at the end of the day it’s just a losing game for everyone. Is it worthy? Our great leader Ho Chi Minh once said, “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom.” 

Despite her best efforts, she failed to finish in the Top 5 of the pageant.
