This upcoming round will feature over 2.5 million license plates for cars and motorbikes from 34 provinces and cities across the country.

The full list of available plates has been publicly posted on the Ministry of Public Security's electronic information portal and the Traffic Police Department’s official website.

After a one-month public listing period, the Traffic Police Department will coordinate with Vietnam Partnership Auction Company (VPA) to conduct the auction for this ninth round.

Currently, relevant agencies are still in the process of completing the eighth auction.

The eighth auction, which began on October 20, has so far resulted in nearly 46,000 plates being successfully auctioned, generating nearly 1.7 trillion VND (approximately 70 million USD).

As of now, total revenue from vehicle plate auctions in 2025 has reached around 5.2 trillion VND (roughly 213 million USD), all of which has been contributed to the state budget.

Numerous "quintuplet" plates - license plates with five identical digits - have fetched tens of billions of VND each. Since the auction system began, total proceeds have hit 9.6 trillion VND (approximately 393 million USD), all directed to the national treasury.
