Taking place from 9am until 11.30am, the English-speaking tour will start at the temple – an old Taoist temple with a 3.7-tonne 350-year-old bronze statue of Tran Vu, the city’s Protector of the North.

While the main theme of this walk is bronze casting, the group will also walk along Tran Vu Street around Truc Bach Lake and learn about a number of past and modern day stories, legends and history associated with the lake.

The group will go onto Ngu Xa Islet at the east end of Truc Bach Lake visiting Than Quang Pagoda and Ngu Xa Communal House to learn about the history of bronze casting, for which this area was famous.

The walk will end at Duc Dong Ngu Xa bronze casting showroom at 178 Tran Vu Street – home and business of craftsman Nguyen Van Ung – one of the few craftsmen pursuing the 400-year-old traditional job on the islet.
