Unlike glassy and classy coffee shops in HCM City, this café has a simple interior décor with old items attached to many people’s childhoods such as typewriter, radio receiver, coal-fired iron and television set.
Upon arrival at Quet Diem, guests have a feeling to return to the past and relive their memories of previous decades while listening to love songs and seeing antique items displayed around the place.
Quet Diem’s brown color theme makes visitors feel relaxed.
On the early morning days or weekends, the shop is crowded with guests who seem to find a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
In addition, the place has a 100-year-old lacquer painting and a vintage 50cc Honda motorcycle.
Guests can also find photo books there. Some enjoy being seated in a corner of the café to have a glass of ca phe sua da (iced coffee with milk), read a fascinating book or use the Internet.
The shop’s menu has khoai mon dua (taro and coconut cake), matcha (fine green tea powder), cookie, soda, tra dao (peach tea), and avocado smoothie, with prices starting from VND22,000 per glass.
The coffee shop is situated at K15 Nguyen Dinh Chieu apartment building in Phu Nhuan District, HCM City.
