VietNamNet Bridge – Decorating Le Duan Road with an art light system, a traditional boat race on the canal of Tau Hu - Ben Nghe and a marathon competition on Hoang Sa - Truong Sa roads are among a series of activities to celebrate HCM City’s Liberation Day (April 30).

From April 25 through May 10, Le Duan Boulevard, the section running through the Independence Palace in District 1, will be decorated with the art light network to celebrate the 38th  anniversary of the liberation of the South (April 30) and the May Day.

Photo exhibitions commemorating the unification of the country will open at 8am on April 26 at Lam Son Park, Chi Lang Park and Dong Khoi Street.

Along with that, a traditional boat race will be held on April 27 on the canal of Tau Hu - Ben Nghe and a marathon race will take place on the morning of April 28, on Hoang Sa - Truong Sa roads.

Also, on the night of April 30 and May 1, the 23/9 Park (District 1), Sen Hong (Pink Lotus) stage, Gia Dinh 2 Park (Cu Chi District), Nga Ba Giong Martyr Monument (Hoc Mon District), District 12 Cultural Center, Lang Le - Bau Co Historic Monuments (Binh Chanh District), History Culture Park (District 9) and the town of Can Thanh (Can Gio District) will have performing art shows.

On this occasion, the HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will kick off the construction of the Hung Dao Cai Luong (southern opera) Arts Center on April 28.

The same day, the Department of Transportation will open the Lang Cha Ca flyover and hold the groundbreaking ceremonies for three other flyovers in District 10, District 6 and Tan Binh District.
