VietNamNet Bridge - A strong storm has been forming offshore and it is moving north-west to the East Sea.





This storm’s international name is Jelawat. Currently, the location of the storm is at about 13.6 north latitude, 128.5 east longitude, just off the coast of the Philippines.

This storm is forecast to strengthen and become a super typhoon in the Pacific Ocean. Then, the storm will move north-west to enter the East Sea of Vietnam in the next 2 to 3 days, becoming the typhoon No. 7 in the rainy season of 2012 in Vietnam.

Typhoon Jelawat has made a strong influence on the sea. Given the influence of Jelawat, southwest monsoon will be strong, causing high winds and rough waves in the southern East Sea, including the Spratly Islands. There will have rain in the Central Highlands and southern provinces on the afternoon and evening of September 24.

Meanwhile, the weather on the mainland has favorable developments. After hot days, the north has been cool from this morning, September 24, with the highest temperature at 29-32 degree Celsius.

In Hanoi, the temperature on September 24 is from 28 to 32 degree Celsius.

The temperature in other areas throughout the country maintains at 29-32 degree Celsius. There are showers and thunderstorms in some places.
